The most recently recorded value will be preserved when fields are merged, and the name of the field with more values will be kept. For example, fields like “zip” and “Zip Code” can be merged together using the Manage Embedded Data directory option. This reduces the amount of embedded data in your directory and streamlines your survey design. Merging fields allows you to combine fields with similar names. Once you have confirmed that the field is not in use, you can quickly remove a field that has zero values by selecting the checkbox and clicking Delete. You may want to check with your users to make sure no one is planning on using the field in the future. If the number of contacts is zero, then that field is currently not in use. This window shows the number of contacts using that field.
The Manage Embedded Data directory option allows you to remove and merge embedded data. Removing Empty Embedded Dataįields not being actively used within the directory or any surveys can be removed. Once recorded, survey response data is completely independent of data in the directory.
Qtip: Removing or merging embedded data in your directory will not remove this data from recorded survey responses.
